- Eric Gouda (7 Jan 99): It resembles T.ixioides and I would like to desect a flower if
available. It is mentioned that T.jucunda is fragrant, not the case with T.ixioides, but
both species in our collection are not fragrant.
- Len Colgan (7 Jan 1999): I wonder whether this is the same as the following plant? http://fcbs.org/butcher/T_Kashkin.htm
Unfortunately, I cannot recall whether T."Kashkin" was fragrant or not. My
specimen, which I merely think might be T. "Kashkin", flowered a couple of
months ago, and it looked very much like your photograph, more so than the one of Derek's
on the WWW. However, I had heard of T. "inca gold" before, and it never occurred
to me that they might be the same hybrid until now, although Derek's article suggests T.
"Kashkin" comes from Bolivia. There are other strange yellowish-flowered plants
from Peru, I suspect.
- Walter Till ( 7 Jan 99): Looks like a hybrid with T. caliginosa involved
- Derek Butcher (8 Jan 99): I agree with Len without collusion. I consider the plant is
none other than good old 'Kashkin'. I came across this plant here in Australia named
'Unknown fragrant from Peru' but no one could tell me where the name or plant came from.
- Len Colgan (8 Jan 99): It is T. "Kashkin" for sure once I see this view
(second pic.).
