- Walter Till ( 7 Jan 99): This is most probably T. pucaraensis (syn.: T. guelzii)
- Eric Gouda (7 Jan 99): See color pictures in: Die Bromelie 1/89:9-1 / Relations: Subgen.
Allardtia, T. cauligera Mez, T. didisticha (E.Morren) Baker, T. lorentziana Grisebach
- Derek Butcher (8 Jan 99): I have a plant I keep linking to T. guelzii which I got from
Knize as T. vernicosa. It is coming into flower at the moment . What I cannot work out is
Walter's link with T. pucaraensis which comes from north Peru whereas T. guelzii is
supposed to come from north Argentina. I have a feeling that no's 9, 10, and 11 all come
from Frank Messina of Tillandsia International!
- Lieselotte Hromadnik (Date:1/5/01) A puzzle :T. pucaraensis from Northern Peru is the
same plant as T. guelzii from Argentina and is the same plant as collected without name by
Wolfgang Krahn before 1980 "km 305 on the road from Cochabamba to Sta. Cruz" in
Bolivia. We have got a plant from the Botanical Garden in Linz, Austria, a long time ago
and also one by Gerda Haugg in Bavaria, who is a friend of Wolfgang Krahn.
