  • Determinatie (7170): Bruce Holst (2011-08-31) =Lindmania atrorosea - Hi Eric: Very nice! I can\'t see all of the details necessary, but there are only a couple of possibilities for described species. Lindmania atrorosea and L. candelabriformis. Based on the narrow leaves and few-flowered inflorescence branches it would be the second one, but so far that is only known from Cerro Paru, a quite remote mountain. Lindmania atrorosea tends to have broader leaves, but I have noted some variation. In any case, I would like to see a herbarium specimen sometime, or if you can propagate it well, a piece for our living collection. It would be very nice to preserve a DNA sample in silica gel. Yuribia Vivas will study Lindmania for her thesis and it is quite difficult to get DNA even for the Venezuelans.
    Saludos, Bruce
