Verzamel locatie: Ecuador, Azuay Province - The first two pictures are NOT from Azuay Province, but was seen on our June 2015 trip. I do not have a locale for this. The remainder of the pictures are from Azuay Province on a side road west from Portete at an elevation of 3067 meters. The first plant is definitely Tillandsia clavigera (Jose Manzanares, Eric and I were together when we saw it). The other plant is believed to be T. clavigera, but I would like confirmation.

Opmerking: This plant from Azuay is difficult to see due to all the other plant material around it. So, you'll have to piece together the pieces from the other pictures to see what it looks like. Very tall to 2 meters high. Note the offsets at the base of each spike in the inflorescence. There were also several offsets coming from within the leave axils (seen in the one photo of the foliage), as well as offsets from the base. A very unusual way of reproducing that I have not seen before. (Verzonden: firstname.lastname@example.org)
