Locality: Colombia - Choco - Galapagos Road to San Jose Del Palmar. 1800 m
Photographer: Peter Tristram
Note: Only saw this species once. Incredible diversity. (Sent: firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Identification: Bruce Dunstan (2014-08-08) =Guzmania verecunda?
- Note: Peter Tristram (2014-08-08) - Another description thin on detail! Looks like the BSI Journal pic of verucunda. I have a plant from Jeff just budding labelled verucunda too so can compare. (Sent: email@example.com)
- Note: Jeffrey Kent (2014-08-08) - Guz. (Mezobromelia??) verecunda. I received this plant years ago from Harry with this name. I also have a red clone from Ecuador as well. It's self fertile at least in my greenhouse. I do not know enough about the seeds to make a determination as to the genus. Genetic studies need to be made. (Sent: firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Note: Peter Tristram (2014-08-09) - Yes Jeff, and like T schimperiana too that Bruce also posted photos of. Phylogenetic work on these under described species will be interesting.
