Note: Unknown vriesea found on top of Auyan-Tepui (1700m), Bolivar state, Venezuela. Inflorescence looks similar to Vriesea duidae but leaves are not wine-red beneath and petals are red and not blue.

- Add Note (1893): Walter Till (2008-01-22) - The only species in the area with such an inflorescence and red petals
should be T. elongata var. subimbricata. Compare with my previous
identification T. pyramidata!
